Beautiful-words-sign

See everyone as the same kind. Do not ‘unkind’ anyone.” Mostly just be kind. “Even those who are not kind to me?” “Especially those. See them as the brilliant imaginal cells they might be."

“Go inside your own mind and listen. You might hear something like–‘Love green… Love your neighbor… Wash your clothes in cold water… Read something beautiful… Drive less, walk more… Do not live in fear, choose love even when you’re afraid… Take your own bags to the grocery store… Do unto others as you would have them do to you… Turn out the lights when you leave a room… Be silent for part of the day… Listen to nature… Eat much more from plants than from animals… Love your enemies… Feed the hungry…Find the gift you came to give this world and give it confidently… Imagine the world as you would like it to be."

"Unique is beautiful." Because everyone is beautiful in their own way, don't let anyone tell you different. Just because someone is a different shape, size, or color than you doesn't mean that they don't deserve to have self confidence as well. Give people around you reasons to make them think that they are beautiful. If you do that to others, it will make you feel good, and you'll realize that beauty is abundant - around you and within you. - Illusion

the moment of silence

silence is the typical reaction or silence isn't my typical fare - i'll figure it out myself!

*someone used to say - if a writer is willing to work and revise as well as take criticism and advice, she has a better chance of being successful. plus, she's got to write, not just "talk the talk." the earlier u start, the more practice u get... and practice makes perfect!

as i sat in my room the other night thinking about what should i write on my blog - *start jotting notes* ..
i looked around - outside my window i see: a pigeon singing sitting on a wire, flowers from neighbour's garden. hmm..hoping the flowers would soften the stories in my newspaper: war, famine, drought, economic collapse, child abuse and ect..ect..

looking around again. nothing moved but my 3 little cute hamsters and i know hamsters can’t talk. huhu! suddenly my mind starts pumping.

all my life, i've had a very vivid imagination. when I'm stuck in a novel or any types of reading materials, whether it is the i usually tend to turn to story generators or write something (anything) to get my imagination flowing again.

during my years in secondary school, i wrote a lot of stories down *start a scrapbook* the result? many nonsense stories - but at least they're stories - i used to laugh at the stories i wrote.

but i used to stopped writing numerous times..no matter what happens, i am really serious about my writing. it's for fun as well as sanity purposes.i believe that writing without emotion isn't good writing at all. every type of writing - whether it is personal, fiction, poetry, fantasy, journalism or ..etc etc .. - needs some sort of feeling.

success is almost everyone's goal in life. no matter what it takes to get there, it's what we all want. for me, i'll be successful as long as i have a source of income and i'm writing. that's my dream to keep writing. and we all need dreams for inspiration, no matter what age.

Let's enjoy a bit 'o pondering.

Why do u love short stories? Maybe because they tend to be more concise & to the point than longer works? Well, perhaps are also helpful for those who do not usually have the patience to finish a more than 100 page fiction. Huhu!

This morning a friend of mine (Adila) sent me an e-mail (regarding short story writing & advice from a creative writing tutor) and I must say...so here it is! *let us ponder this story*

USED vs LOVED

While a man was polishing his new car, his 4 year old son picked up a stone and scratched lines on the side of the car. In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times not realizing he was using a wrench.

At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures. When the child saw his father (with painful eyes) he asked, 'Dad when will my fingers grow back?' The man was so hurt and speechless; he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.

Devastated by his own actions - sitting in front of that car he looked at the scratches; the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'.

Anger and Love have no limits; choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life & remember this: Things are to be used and people are to be loved.

The problem in today's world is that people are used while things are loved. Let's try always to keep this thought in mind: "Things are to be used. People are to be loved."

Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny..

I hope u have a good day no matter what problems u may face it's the only day you'll have before it's over.

Dream dream dream!

"All that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream!" - Edgar Allen Poe

Do u dream about horses? I know I do & seriously, this is my first time. I just had a horse dream last night! And it's a white horse.

It's early morning & it's beautiful, the weather is so amazing. In my dream, I was standing near ancient big tree. A horse came along side of me. I knew this horse & it knew me. As the horse brushed onlong side of me. I put my hand out & ran it alongside of it’s main, coat & tail. The horse was walk very slowly & started to walk away. I grabed it’s tail & spoke to it & told it to stop but it just looked back at me slowly pulling me along.
So I ran alongside of the horse grabed it’s main & mounted it bareback. This is what the horse wanted - it wanted to play to run!

Sight, sound, texture & everything was so very real. I have never had a dream this real that was possitive. Oh yes, as I mentioned I awoke from the dream very happy to have experienced it & frankly can’t seem to stop thinking about it! :-)
Well, its just a dream, u never know what if tommorow.. only God.

Sick Days - am still having em'

I'm using this "found time" with writing stuff I'm passionate about. Haha! Hmm.. So, what shall I write about? Hmm.. Oh ya, guess what?

I hate phlegm, flu & coughing. Hate it! Hate it! Hate it! I hate when starting to feel a miserable cold coming on.

I hate being sick .... I hate having the flu & I hate coughing.. hate colds..hate fever. *Well, nobody wants to get sick.* .. I feel awful & I can't stop coughing my head off. Last weekend, I cant sleep. I don't know what to do. Early in the afternoon, I've taken medicine & slept from 3pm ++ until 7.30pm. And it isn't helping & I am miserable. I ate tons of fruit & veggies & drank water & took my vitamins.

I have been unwell since last Monday (Dec 28th, 2009). Yep, that's right. The worst part of all, it's now Monday again. Haha! And I am still having flu & cough! If I want to get better, I know that I have to stay home & get all the rest I need. I just hope & pray that I'll get better soon. I have to, right?

When I try to breathe in it hurts & gets all itchy feeling. I feel like someone is sitting on my chest. Whatever it is, please get off, it is uncomfortable. I hate randomly waking up in the middle of the night with coughing fits. I hate that I've been coughing so much that my throat is raw & my sides hurt. I hate how it f***s with my voice & makes me sound like I'm crying.

Being all stuffed up, coughing your head off (or at least until u hope it falls off) & having a minor-soar throat is not fun in the slightest. I know that I may be a big baby complaining about this because other people have the flue to blah blah blah. But still.

On top of being sick I have to clean - clean the room, I need to clean my hamsters cage & get laundry done. etc..ect..Yea...fun! Well, I had plans, things I wanted to get done.

I kind of feel like going to bed, curl up in a ball, pull the covers over & act like a bigger baby. Sigh! I miss my pillows. But too bad... I almost forgot, I have to work. Haha! Alright folks, I need to get back to work.

Anyway, have a great & healthy day everyone! *Smile*

Miloholic...Chocoholic!

I am a hot cocoa fanatic.

I'm going off topic a bit today. Let's talk drinks! What is your favorite drink & why?

I'm not sure what it is about hot milo that I love so much. It seems to me the perfect beverage: warm, creamy, milky & filled with lots of chocolate. What is there not to love about that? I have friends who prefer a latte or kopi O or a cup of tea. But u will never see me being unfaithful to my favorite drink. Whether I am at home or work or visiting with friends at local mamaks it is hot milo that I will always choose.

Sometimes the cold air gets to me & I just need my favorite cup of hot milo. I guess part of why I love hot milo so much is because it reminds me of my childhood. I have many fond memories of mom fixing me a cup of hot milo after a long day of playing outside.

As an adult I have continued to love hot milo just as much. I love coming home from a long day of work & stopping in the kitchen to make a perfect cup. *kita minum dulu!!!! melo paneh memang uuummmpphhh!!!*

Happy sipping! Happy drinking or what so ever u wanna call it. :-)

Bazaar keeps us awake@Shopping under the stars!

When u go shopping do u usually go for stuff (clothes, shoes, etc. ect..) with brands? Issit really necessary to wear stuff with brands? I have met people who are brand-conscious like they wouldn't even dare to wear anything that isn't branded. Is branded stuff really a big deal?
Frankly speaking, I rarely aim to buy anything branded. I buy brands only if I see it is worth the price. I'm not into brands (seriously)... I couldn't relate since I'm not into brands. Branded stuff are not a big deal.

But everyone has brands that they are passionate about. But to some people, they believe it maps to their lifestyle. SO .. are u a brand-conscious?? But not for me, i'm not into brand name stuff as much as a lot of people are these days.

Anyone who is too scared to go out wearing perfectly good clean clothes that aren't branded must be very insecure & probably needs their head examined. Huhu! *no offence ... kalau terase nasib lah* .. There's also little consideration for actual style. Someone can look very good in something that isn't branded & look like the world's worst fashion victim in something that is. As long as one can look good in what he or she wears or feel comfortable - it doesn't matter if it's branded or not.

Alright... here's my story & I'm stickin' to it!

Who goes shopping after midnight??? Well, I do :-)
Most people would go about their activities in the daytime & only reserve the night for food & entertainment. How about a different routine for a change? Avoid the hassles of parking & overcrowded malls by visiting your friendly neighbourhood flea markets, pasar malams or night bazaars. Witness the streets come alive at night as u bargain your way through everything from food to cellphone accessories & even automobiles!

Try going to the night bazaars at Danau Kota where the action only intensifies after midnight. U’ll be surprised as to what u could find at the place.

Quite a few, apparently, judging from the bustling Danau Kota midnight bazaar which operates daily (till the wee hours of the morning - 3am the latest) except on Thursdays (I guess).
Guess what, the pixs below, I bought it from the bazaar.

p/s: but we have to admit, almost majority of us crave for signature brands once in awhile. Also, sometimes, the branded ones are the ones with great quality & durability. But I would not spend a fortune just to brag about how my things, clothes, shoes are branded...for me brands are just names.

Idris' family - Remembering Abah

To all Dad's, Papa's, Father's ... Let me wish all fathers out there a very Happy Father's Day. And to our fathers who are no longer with us..let us offer Al-Fatihah. May they rest in peace and may God bless them. Amin!

Father's Day is a bittersweet time for me. One Thursday evening, my beloved father passed away peacefully at the age of 58. It was a sudden demise and he is still missed dearly by all of us until today. If there is one thing that I could wish for.. it would be to have him back with us. Abah was our mentor. A very firm and wise man, abah hardly ever scolded us and only did so when it was really necessary. Mak, on the other hand - I must admit that I admire her patience and calmness. A very strong lady at heart, she was the pillar that all of us had relied on when we lost our beloved father.

As the saying goes, we only have one set of parents in this world, so might as well love them and appreciate everything they did for our future's sake. To u Abah, we thank you for bringing us to this world and sharing us some of your experiences. On behalf of my siblings, we are proud of u.

Dimana akan ku cari
Aku menangis seorang diri
Datanglah aku ingin bertemu
Untukmu aku menyanyi
Untuk Abah tercinta
Aku ingin bernyanyi
Walau airmataku jatuh dipipi
Abah ... dengarkanlah
Aku ingin berjumpa
Walau hanya dalam mimpi...walau hanya didalam mimpi.

Happy Father's Day and may u shelter in the palm of the Creator's hand and may the last embrace of the mother welcome u home. - Al-Fatihah!

En. Idris B. Ahmad (October 10th 1947 - July 27th 2005) - You'll surely be missed dearly by all of us!

the tale of thumbeLINA

For words, she ran out of them: thumbeLINA- observing the observed.
Somehow, u understand every moody, compulsive, emotional, neurotic or quirky.. Preserving a friendship requires many skills, one of the most important of these is the ability to say "I'm sorry". We all make mistakes. Hurting each other from time to time is inevitable especially in a friendship. Some people are incapable of apologizing because they are unable to admit that they may have made a mistake. There is no way for a friendship to last without apologies. Saying I'm Sorry in a sincere and compassionate way will preserve your friendship and deepen the bond that your share.

Ok! I’m taking a deep breath …in … out... in … out … shit, I’m not breathing. My hands are shaking while I try and type. I can’t believe what I have to tell. I don't quite know how to write what I must. But on this one page, I’m in utter disbelief myself. I’m trying hard not to freak-out to stay strong and to remain calm. But I'll write what I trust but I never had the chance to say it again. I will say it again for that friendship is tried. I'm sorry for what I’ve done... but there was something u said, something that opened my eyes. For all the tears that I've cried. I never meant to hurt anyone. I hope one day it can be fixed. Most people would say, “friends come and go”, I thought and still do and we had so much more to show.

And now, last but not least I just want to say I’m sorry for everything from the bottom of my heart. Hope to stay in touch.

During the kiddo's years - Eat Your Dessert First!

Sometimes life is made out of a great number of small incidents and a small number of great ones. People tend to remember the great incidents but as for me, I love to remember the small ones instead.

Flashing back 22 years ago, I was just a little girl in primary school. My grandmom believe as a growing child, I must have a proper at least 3 course meal everyday. So she packed my school lunch for me.

Everyday I will get a small portion of sandwich for entree, mee goreng or rice for the mains and a different selection of dessert all the time. One fine day, she prepared banana pancakes for my dessert. It was a big day that I can never forget. That's because it was really unusual. I only get fruits or buns for dessert. But that day, I had banana pancake!!!!!!

I had a torturing 3 hours of classes before the break because I couldn't wait to eat that banana pancake in my lunch box. Finally when the bell rang, I rushed to the canteen where other children were seated. Slowly, I open up my lunch box and display all my food on the table.

I was contemplating of eating the banana pancake first, but I remember my wise father taught me, "u must save the best for last then the taste will remain longer in your mouth." It became a habit for me to do that. To think about it, no wonder they serve dessert at the end of the meal. Because it is the best part of all. But after u continue reading this story, u might change your perception. Huhu! I'll give u a good advice, life is uncertain, better eat your dessert first.

I chewed my food and I swallowed. Chewed ... chewed ... chewed and swallowed. After done that repeatedly, I came to the dessert moment. The banana pancake was staring at me and begging me to eat them.

But before I could pick-up my fork, the fire alarm went-off. All the children start to get panic and running around like headless-chicken. I didn't know what to do. I wanted to ignore the commotion and continue eating my banana dessert but there was an announcement on the speaker that everyone has to leave for the field immediately. My teacher grabbed my arms and dragged me out of my chair. There I was ...parting with my banana pancake like two lovers refuse to let go off their hands at the bus station. Huhu!

Eventually, I was standing at the field but my heart was with the banana pancake. The headmistress announced that there was no fire and it was merely a fire drill. "She must be playing a personal prank on me!!!! Memang kurang asam punya pengetua." I said to myself. After half hour listening to her endless speech, we were allowed to dismiss.

I ran to the canteen only to find that the place was perfectly clean!!!!!! I asked the cleaner where was my banana pancake and she told me she threw away everything on the table, so my banana pancake is probably in the rubbish bin already. I couldn't believe she threw away the precious dessert I've ever got in my schooling days!! I felt like I was just been sucked into a black-hole.

Just so u know, I spent the next 3 years during my primary eating fruits and buns for my dessert. I awaited for the precious banana pancake but for some reason, my grandmom did not make it anymore.

Do you find quiet people a snob? - *the importance of being real*

"Would u take the risk of being called snobbish? ... U may even upset and hurt quite a few people but u're not supposed to feel for them."

What's about me? I must say that, I'm just an ordinary simple person. I'm neither beautiful nor ugly. Hahaha! *clearing throat* .. Continue with the writing. It is a real epiphany when u discover the importance of being real or as I like to put it, genuine in life.

People sometimes mistakenly think I'm quiet. They think I am strict and quite person and they are interpreting it as being unfriendly or snobbish.
Hmmm... Deep inside my heart, I'm like, "Ya, so!!!" .. but its okay, wait until u know ... Well, impressions like that is not a new one for me! In fact i'm used to them! WHY? Well, just check this out!

Sometimes, I'm like, I have no idea in the world what people sees in me. I associate as a snob. Probably because of my face it looks like one . But tell you what, actually that's a BIG NO. Proofs? My beloved boyfriend, families and friends..Hehe!

I want to let everyone know that I'm not a perfect person..as nobody really is...Please take a chance to know me better before judging me, but actually their opinions does not matter. It's just that I have to admit that those NON-SENSE comments and PREJUDICES.. If u would just take the find yourselves wrong.

I don't give a damn what other people think. I am me. There is no one else exactly like me.

I'm not the kind of girl that will just tend to keep her mouth-shut if someone did something wrong to her. If someone did something wrong to me, surely, I'll fight for my self.. as long as I know I'm in the position where in I'm right. I know how to say my sorry if needed or if I've done something wrong to someone, but if I know I'm the right one well then u'll never hear me saying those words.

But seriously, we can't force people to be genuine, we just have to love 'em until they discover for themselves in their own time, how totally cool and freeing it is!

I guess I've said enough already.

As Malay proverb says - Mulut tempayan boleh ditutup, mulut manusia mana boleh, sesak nafaslah nanti. Hehehe!
Peace, peace, peace no war!

Have a great dinner. Have a pleasant weekend ahead. Cherioo and have fun!

As I lay down to sleep - Every message is a smile

Did u all miss me? Yes, I'm back to selling some writing. Haha! Just kidding. I missed writing or u may called it typing instead. Hey, I'm sorry I haven't been writing much. Just where in the hell have I been? Well, it's simple really. I've been too busy to blog. So here I am, writing / tapping my fingers on the keyboard about something I enjoy and enjoy sharing. I've got all sorts of things happening though. However, due to some what of an outcry, I'm back in-the-house, but at least I'm back online. It feels like the right thing to do. Updates still won't be termendously frequent. I am resolving to make the effort though. At some point, my piece feels undone. Yeah. Undone. U read it right. It's not really done. When I feel this, I do something which I find strange. I have always felt something at the back of my mind that somewhere, something exists which will take me somewhere, where I deserve to be.I started writing in a diary to make myself feel better, at least I guess that's why I did. I would just write about what I was feeling and how it was impacting me. Before I knew it, I was writing for hours and hours a day, even doing it at work on my computer, writing and writing, typing and typing and then deleting what I wrote so no one would see it.There was there one night, as I lay down to sleep. I've popped. My mind is overcome, but as I get deeper, my inner thoughts slowly dance. I just feel like writing something. I have to admit, I missed these two wonderful people. My boyfriend and my late father (he'll be missed by many ... Al-Fatihah).

But when I sat down I feel like writing something. I want to write something new - something extraordinary and beautiful and simple. To me, writing is something that comes from the heart that helps me to express myself. In fact, I am missing my boyfriend very much.

Oh yea. Valentine’s is just around the corner.
Me and my boyfriend do not celebrate valentine’s day. I fall into the hate it category. Haha! Please just don’t ask me why. Thank you. My friends and colleagues giggles at me because they said they cannot believe a woman could careless about valentine’s day. Why should I care so much? But really, I think its silly. I would rather remember our anniversary or his birthday than Feb 14th. That’s just me.

Ok, let's get back to the topic.
Sometimes writing a good romatic love message can be very difficult. But seriously I’m not a very good in writing a romatic message or poem. I’m not a mushy-gushy kind of lovey-dovey person. Hehehe! But I try to find and my best to write a lovely message to the person I loved.
So here goes nothing. I really hope he likes it.

*Time goes by a lot slower when u miss the one u love. Missing someone gets easier everyday. Because, even though it is one day further from the last time u saw each other, it is one day closer to the next time u will.

I miss u when something really good happens, because u are the one I want to share it with. I miss u when something is troubling me because u are the one who understands me so well. I miss u when I laugh and cry because I know that u are the one that makes my laughter grow and tears disappear. I miss u all the time but I miss u most when I lay awake at night and think of all the wonderful time we spent with each other.

Distance never separates two hearts that really care, for our memories span the miles and in seconds we are there. But whenever I start feeling sad because I miss u I remind myself how lucky I am to have someone so special to miss. There are moments in your life when u really miss someone that u want to pick from your dreams and hug him for real. Love is missing someone whenever u’re apart but somehow feeling warm inside because u’re close in heart.*
At the same time once again, I personally would like to wish my boyfriend a cool fun belated birthday. Hope u had a fantastic one.
Happy Belated Birthday Dear! Hip-hip hooray! *MUUUAAAH*
Love U!!! :-)

The beauty of human beings: The sadness and the happiness

Generally speaking here.. *Everyone's experience is different, but there are some problems that many people face.. common problems*

Perhaps I just reached a point where I had had enough. Yes, I've been feeling like that for a while. That depends upon that with which you discover yourself having enough. It is strictly subjective. Some people have higher or lower tolerances to "enough".

Do you feel sad sometimes? It's a fact that everyone feels sad from time to time. There are times for everybody when hopelessness takes place.

This feeling is sadness for the society that we live in. The world around us is always in shambles. While our lives may be perfect, there are countless others with so many problems that could be solved if people would think and be loving and considerate. It is good that you feel sadness for our society. It means that you aren't just another heartless person engulfed in it. It also probably means that you want to help people with problems like that man's. It's a noble cause. It's natural to have feelings of sadness.

The beauty of human beings is that we are all different, and there are different things that make us all happy... But, there is something for everyone and there is also a place in this world that is perfect for each and every one of us... it's just discovering what and where those things/places are.

Have you been doing the same thing for ages? Do you need a change? And I'll tell you something for sure, every person needs something to look forward to all of the time. Whether it's a holiday, the hope of finding someone to love who will love us in return, moving house, saving up to buy something, even shopping, a birthday, ect... ect.... it just depends what interests you most...

The best way to self discovery (which does include discovering what makes you happy) ... when you work abroad, no-one knows you (you being the reputation you have to live up to in your home town) they only have of you what you give them, you are open to be who you want to be entirely, and who you have become. You also are meeting new people everyday, people from all over the world, different cultures, backgrounds, workers, holiday-makers (people on holiday are the happiest people and the most fun to be around)...

You also go there to live your life, not to work! work is not even like work, it's fun and takes up hardly any of your time there. You don't have to do this, I just think it's a really good chance to open your eyes and realize there's a lot more out there than what you've already experienced in life. So why not give it a go?

Please yourself first!! sounds selfish but you have to like who you are first.

Sound off and be heard: Friend in Need is a Friend Indeed - *What's on Your Mind?*

“I feel like my friends are always talking smack behind my back. They'll all be talking together, but when I join the group they stop. They start up again as soon as I leave. I've tried asking them about it, but they deny they're doing it… "

Gossip raises gossips, but what else does it raise ? It happens to everyone.

How do you feel about a friend who has to go everywhere with you? Not only does he/she tag along all the time, but since he/she are so offensive and vulgar, you become unwelcome when with he/ she/ them.

But eventually your friends tires of you. They decides they're no longer wishes to have your company. Instead of letting you go your separate ways, they decides to "kill" you. In fact, they has been plotting your death since the day you met them.

Why do people talk behind their friend's back? I was just wondering because I experienced that thing before. Some adults still have some bad habits and still talk behind people's backs. Why? .. Oh Please! Don't be hypocrite.

Perhaps, you too may talk someone behind. Don't say 'No' not only all of this world peoples are anyone talk like this behind to someone. Such activities are not impress to others.

I think the main reason why friends talk about you behind your back is because they either don't like you or there's something about you that they don't like. There are other reasons as well why they talk about you behind your back.

Those so-called people whom you called friends talk about you behind your back, they are not your friends. Friends do not bad mouth each other and they're there for one another. People talk about other people regardless and it is up to us to not be so concerned of what they think. I learned i life to pick and choose your friends carefully. If they want to be part of your life, be a positive influence, picks you up when you're down and they're there for you, that is a friend.

I think one of the biggest problems with helping someone deal with the loss of someone close is that a lot of people feel the subject is a bit unapproachable, they tiptoe around it in a mostly ungraceful manner, hence the elephant in the room... People should know that it can be spoken about and if the person isn't in the mood for speaking then let them drop it.

This old saying "a friend in need is a friend indeed" is time tested. There is no dearth of friends in this world but finding a true or real friend is really difficult. Lot of people will boast that I have hundreds of friends but when she/he is in trouble how many of the hundreds will extend a helpful hand. Friends always keep changing. How many friends stay in touch with changes of place. You have friends in your primary school but when you leave and move to secondary school you forget these friends and make new friends.

Likewise, when you leave school or college you move to join your work place you get new friends and forget old friends. Only few friends stay in touch with changing place and time. What does it show? In fact this is not friendship this is an arrangement to share things, to share work . However, sharing of responsibility in easy and stable manner changes in real friendship.

Most of the time we make friends with some purpose. However, when you make friendship without purpose and your liking and disliking match each other, chances are that this friendship will last long. True friendship needs compromises, sacrifices and helping attitude towards each other. Sometime we becomes more demanding and always expect that a friend will always agree to your viewpoint but this is wrong attitude and should never expect too much.

When you become dependent on someone whether she/he is your friend actually you are demanding more than needed. However, friendship is other form of love. It is in no terms less than love. If you have true friendship you will love your friend more than any other thing in this world but this world is materialistic so first test and evaluate than go ahead with friendship. People are really lucky who find good friends. I would find a friend that is trustworthy and nice. Tell me, who wouldn't?

p/s: do a little self-evaluation

Entering Marriage Life: Congratulations to the groom and Best Wishes to the bride

Wedding quotes: A wedding is a start of togetherness... of walks in the rain, basking in the sunshine, shared meals, caring for one another and sensing the love that a marriage carries. Chains do not hold a marriage together. It is threads, hundreds of tiny threads which sew people together through the years. Love is not sweet talks and flowers, but love is forgiving and compromising. - Simone Signore.

The dowry, Malaysian style, consists of money, jewellery, rice, sugar and other food stuffs for the bridal room. The amount of dowry varies from time to time as well as from place to place.

For the Malays, the dowry is presented during the "akad nikah" of which the wedding is officiated by the Kadi or Imam..The hantaran or the main dowry is magnificiently presented at this ceremony. This kind of dowry usually ranges from RM500 to RM5,000. The mas kahwin is the compulsory dowry which is given to the bride before the Kadi as a token of faith and love at the akad nikah.

The ceremony is full of fun and delights but of course it has to start with the akad nikah - the formal contract of marriage or also commonly known as the marriage solemnization or wedding vows.

The akad nikah or the marriage ceremony was performed in the mosque. The groom, Nizwan, stated his vows in front of families, relatives and friends.

Before the akad nikah proper, as preliminaries, the Kadi or Imam will try to make the groom comfortable and gives out advice and suggestions on the duties of a good husband and wife. Sometimes, he might test the groom on religious matters by asking him to recite verses of the Al-Quran, or knowledge of the basic pillars of Islam and faith.

But since nowadays all potential marriage partners must attend a wedding course before they can get married, it is usually assumed that the groom is well versed in basic Islamic knowledge. Well, the akad nikah will start with the groom sitting on a small square mattress to make him comfortable, facing the Imam. They will then hold hands in a handshake manner, and the imam will say the words of the akad nikah to the groom who will then reply.

This post however is not about my wedding, but my friend brother's wedding ceremony. The groom, Nizwan and his newly-wed Siti Zuraini (name of bride).

I have to admit, when it comes to weddings, I've always loved wedding stuff and therefore love to see all of ideas and plans coming fruition. So I thought that I'd contribute by posting reviews of the most recent wedding I attended. It was a hectic day; I went to a friend's akad nikah solemnization today and thought I'd share with you a few snippets from that event. I took pictures too, which captured the wedding parade and the people there.

The ceremony was held in the mosque (Penang State Mosque in Air Itam). Just a simple ceremony that focused on love and not the glitz and glamour of most I have been to lately. But this was a different type of wedding in that everyone involved genuinely cared for one another. The two families seemed to love each other and they seemed to genuinely love their children. Their friends seemed to genuinely love one another. It was genuinely touching. And the most importantly the bride and groom seemed to genuinely love each other.

Once we had arrived, we were greeted by many relatives clad in colorful Malay attires, as were we. Malays really love bright colors for their formal clothing. As a Muslim woman, during that day, we are encourage to wear a tudung (head-scarf). I brought a 40 inches square tudung bawal and learnt to put them on. Nobody actually taught me how to wear one. I had watched my Mother, Aunties and friends, putting them on. I thought to myself, ahhh a piece of cake, no problem la. Well, still I look cool in tudung. Hehehe!

I wasn't planning to wear the tudung immediately. I considered it too fast a move to do one. I needed time to adjust. Not all born Muslim women wear one; I even told my friends that I'd wear a tudung when the time is right for me. For me, I needed time to get used to the feeling of a piece of cloth on my head.. In the meantime, I would cover my head with a long shawl or selendang. Wearing the head cover is not something that I've always done.

When I was at the ceremony, some of my friends and relatives even my mother's friends, couldn't recognize me. They saw my face but yet without seeing my hair. But seriously, it is a never to be forgotten experience.

Now let's get back to the akad nikah ceremony.. Life after marriage - Couples who stay or living together. Marriage is a beautiful thing in life. It is unique experience. After marriage we can so easily find every flaw in someone who was so recently flawless. We also discover a more intimate knowledge of the others fears, anxieties and weaknesses of which we have so few. In a successful marriage we should calm our spouse's fears, give comfort when they are anxious and make them strong where there is weakness. What greater love could we give?...... Life after marriage is wonderful.

Marriage is being there for the other in bad times as well as the good. Married love stands through thick and thin, no matter how hot the trials or how hard the test. Married love never loses hope. It's always there, always dependable, always ready with outstretched hands and open arms to take the other into love, to comfort, to hold, and to cherish. Marriage is learning to let the little things pass.

Here are few pictures of an akad nikah proceeding taking place. Notice that everyone is seated on the floor, with witnesses surrounding the groom and the Kadi.

Lastly, the akad nikah was followed by returning the visit and greeting the bride's family at their residence. Upon arrival the bride was given gifts from the Groom's family. The giftsare normally jewelleries, food, clothing or heirlooms.

The ceremony ends with the bride kissing the groom's hands after the placing of the ring.
And they will later in the afternoon precede for the Bersanding ceremony – sitting in state on the pelamin - the highlight of a traditional Malay wedding.

To both newly-wed couple, we wish you all the happiness that you both deserve as you travel through life together. And, while you may experience those challenges of life, you will never again be alone in conquering these issues for each of you bound together in marriage form a tremendous power to exceed, to persevere, and to help each other be all that each can be. We are so pleased to see you married. May the happiness you experience on your wedding day remain with you both for many years to come.

Overcoming Jealousy - I keep telling to myself on how to cope with jealousy.... recovery and repair.

It's a little odd to be writing about this. ...

I feel jealous sometimes but it often passes pretty quickly and without the almost burning intensity some people seem to experience. I have known some very jealous personalities in my life. To be perfectly honest, I can't think of any one that ended up being truly happy or successful. Jealousy has a way of destroying everything in front of it without regards. I can freely admit that I am not a jealous person, and I feel that it has a lot to do with the fact that I concentrate more on what I do than what others do. I believe that I could be a jealous person if I wouldn't have this control over myself. After all, I am a very competitive person that thrives on adversity. I would seem to be the perfect fit to have jealous tendencies, yet I do not. Even though, jealousy is a perfectly natural emotion.

Still, I have of course thoughts about this problem and found a few ways to overcome it when it arises within. Hopefully this article can be helpful for you to decrease this destructive feeling in your life. I admit I'm not much of a jealous person. Well, sometimes I love it but most of the time I hate it. Well for some reason I love this quote, I think it's very authentic. It's rare to have people who can admit that they're jealous. And perhaps loving it would make life easier. I don't know.. Maybe yes and maybe no. But tell me, what are you jealous of?

But what exactly is jealousy? A feeling of wanting something that is not yours? Practically this makes sense. We always want what we can't have. So is it possible to enjoy not having something? What I'm going to say is to me, being jealous is like a kick to go further, it's a motivation to get it, it's the missing piece to force ourselves to do something. Being jealous can help you to go do something. Someone's smarter than you? Study harder and get smart! Work it out!!! Jealousy and ambition are a nice combination if you can work it out together. But yet, you need to know that there's good and bad jealousy (obviously that's basically how the way life works!). You can be jealous of someone cause they have somebody else.. And that's just a feeling that throws you down... And the undercurrent of jealousy is always there to spice things up.

Jealousy in relationship is one way the phenomenon manifests itself. It has its peaks and valleys or has its problems. Another is a poor self-concept. It is a very negative factor in any relationship. It often suffocates the relationship. In every relationship, Love must be free and it must be confident. Remember that every relationship should be built and nurtured on compromise, communication and understanding. We all have feelings.

So basically people just need to know how to make lemonade out of lemons right? To tell you, I'm jealous of this particular thing, and this one is a good jealousy, yeah I wish I was rich. Hehehe! Just kidding. But being jealous of material things such as objects and money is just a waste of time to me.

We have to think positive. The feeling of jealousy makes me feel lousy! Be mature. Childish behaviors like extreme jealousy are a big no-no.

Cook on weekend

Oh, it was a lovely weekend. What a breath of fresh air. Throughout my weekend of juice in the kitchen. Today I was thinking of the pleasures of homemaking and thought I'd share a few with you. I love homemaking because my time is my own. I dictate how my day will go and that is an awesome thing to do. Cooking became an outlet when I was all of a sudden out of options to keep myself occupied at home.

If all of us realize how important good food preparation to our families and loved ones, we will never ever take this for granted and I get great pleasure out of seeing instant gratification on people’s faces.

This is how my Mom taught me where love and food is actually connected to each other… Prepare the food with love definitely love will grows stronger in you and peoples around you.

I could start off by telling a story of how I learnt cooking from my Mother when I was a young girl … but I didn’t. Hehe! And still can I remember being in the kitchen with Mak when I was little and "helping" as much as any 5 year old can. Then the teenage years set it and, gosh, was I selfish!! I remember Mak asking me "How long do you boil chicken?", "How long do you boil eggs?" and on and on and on. Things I would have learned had I been less selfish and continued under the tutelage of my Mother. My answer? "Mak, I'll just read the directions."

My Mother love to cook, it’s her passion, it’s her life. And when I was little, I wasn’t interested in cooking. I just wanted to eat! Plus, if I was anywhere near the kitchen when Mak was cooking, it never fails… I’d always end up with the shit jobs!

Pinching the itty bitty tails off the of bean sprouts, shelling pounds and pounds of shrimp … so on and so on .. Hehehe! Of course, Mak would constantly spew out kitchen wisdom, but hey, I was young and didn’t care about cooking- I WANTED TO EAT!

So I really didn’t learn how to cook during my younger days well until my Mother opened her mouth and said to me “How in the world are you ever going to cook for your family if you never help me cook now?"

Okay, so I was Miss Smarty Pants and not very honoring to my Mother. I've repented, believe me. I'm not saying I'm an expert cook, but I love to learn new methods instead of the same old same old.

After years gone by and time flies … And I’m all grown up now, it’s never too late to learn. Hehe! Here's the story... I'm not a chef. I'm not a professional cook. But I love what happens when I serve up delicious food from my own kitchen. In our family, the kitchen is the center of life. It's a warm and friendly place to be. But it wasn't always like this -- in fact my first encounter with cooking was a total disaster. Cooking is the center of life for almost everyone in the world, and it's about more than just feeding your body. Cooking is really about love and connection.

I love to cook and I'm going to cook something special…So today, I’m cooking Ikan masak kukus Nyonya style - I've got fresh limes ready to squeeze. (You know my passion for fish) and sambal tumis taukua.. it’s been long time since I have cooked that and I’m more than happy that I realized it, even though it was after a good long while. I was determined to learn how to cook a decent meal, though. That's why I was determined to learn to cook and doing so really changed my life.
Fact I'm proud of myself though I'm a lousy cook but bit by bit my cooking skills have improved over the years, my enjoyment of food has also increased. Hehe! As I work to improve my cooking skills, my writing style and my lifestyle in general, I have realized to become a better cook as well. To target my “audience”.. Hehehe!

Even though cooking is not my obsession. It's not even really my hobby. But it has become a great vehicle for making a connection with others I cannot make any other way. The well-cooked meal is simply a vehicle to deeper friendships, fascinating conversation, family together time, and yes...sometimes even romance. And I’m willing to give it a try. Absolutely!

I want to be like my Mother. My Mother is very good cook. She teaches me how to cook and be a good wife for my future husband. Mostly, I learned to cook from my Mother and Mummy (my aunt).

Even if you don't think you can cook worth diddly and If you ever wished you could cook up meals and dishes that leave your guests with their mouths watering... rubbing their midsections and making that "mmmmmmm" sound... and raving about how delicious your cooking is.
Have a great weekend and full of healthy food!

Encouragement has given me peace of mind

I allow myself to feel calm and relaxed. With every breath in, I breathe in relaxation and with every breath out, I breathe out tension.

My body is relaxing and as I become aware of any tightness in any muscle, I let it go. They drift away and I allow calmness and peace to enter my mind.

My thoughts open up like a path inward, towards my inner self. I have courage to cross obstacles of my inner weaknesses or doubts and begin to explore the silent spaces within. I am strong enough to let go of all the mistakes of the past and fears of the future. They drift away like steam dissolving into space.

I move away from the limitations I'd placed upon myself in the form of doubts and expectations and I allow myself to be free.

I respect myself. Life is a game in which I make the rules. I choose to play the game of life with clarity in my thoughts and easiness and lightness in my attitudes.
I accept the surprises and changes life is offering me with confidence and calmness, resolving to live everyday in freedom and peace.

Now it's time for my thoughts to return. As I return, I keep within myself feelings of peace and strength, free just to be me.
